Many devote to a fast at the beginning of the year. Though it calls for serious commitment and discipline, fasting can be exciting. If you are among the fasters don’t lose sight of your goals and your motive.
A few days into the fast you may lose the excitiment as it becomes either too challenging or too boring to continue. This frequently leads to guilt and hoplessness
Remember; God doesn’t want us running from Him out of fear and desperation. Because of His love, grace and mercy, He wants us to run to Him. He says He will never leave you or forsake you. “That is unconditional love!!!!”
Most of us tend to give up and hide from God when things do not work out according to plan. During your fast, if you fail in anyway, remember the Holy Spirit is with you. He is yearning to participate in every step you take. Listen to Him, talk to Him and follow His advice.
As you renew your mind through His Word, and get closer to Him in prayer and meditation, you will be able to walk in the blessing and the good plans He has for you.
God is our strong tower. We run to Him and we are safe. (Proverbs 18:10)
Drink lots of purified water, do some type of light activity and have enough rest and sleep.

Speak what you want not what?
Words create, words have power. If you speak the Word of God you create the will of God. When you speak your problem or the words of the devil you create the will of Satan.
Mark 11:23 "For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed , and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass ; he shall have whatsoever he saith."

Are you living in condemnation?
How often I have found myself under condemnation and even hiding from God because of the suspicion that He is blaming me! Has this happened to you?
Could you be putting the blame on the wrong Person? Romans 8:31 says that God is for us. God does not want us to live in guilt. God condemned sin in our Lord Jesus. Sin was paid for and when we believed on our Lord Jesus we were justified.
Though Condemnation still exists, it is not from God. God convicts of sin, but He doesn't condemn us. Conviction is for our good. It helps us to change but condemnation leads to punishment.
Of course when we sin or do wrong things we walk out of God's will. We may experience condemnation from society, Satan and personal conscience but it is not from God! Jesus makes intercession for us so He cannot condemn and interceed at the same time!
Satan is the one who condemns us, but the Holy Spirit has given us the power to escape that condemnation.
Romans 8:1 "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."

Victory through the Spirit-controlled life
Romans 8:31: "What shall we then say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?"
Do you ever find yourself fighting against self? That has been one of my greatest battles; the hopelessness of the flesh, failure to please God, the wretchedness of even failing to do what I want to do, which Paul points out in Romans 7
If you relate to that, don’t be discouraged! In Romans 8, Paul declares the victory we have through the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in us. The tremendous victory available to us if we let the Holy Spirit live our Christian life through us.
The Holy Spirit makes intercession for us (8:26-27), God works all things together for our good (8:28), and we are predestined to be conformed to the image of our Lord Jesus (8:29).
And listen to the conclusion: “If God be for us (exactly what Paul has been saying throughout this chapter), who can be against us?” Yes, we have victory through the Spirit-controlled life.

Are you honoring God with your body?
Sometimes I feel like eating whatever I please regardless of the consquences? I bet you do too. Have you noticed though that as soon as you get the urge to, you also get a nudging not to? Your spirit listens to the Holy Spirit residing on the inside of you. He, the Holy Spirit is always reminding you that your body belongs to God. It was bought with a price; bought by the precious blood of Jesus. Of course God wants us to enjoy His abundant provisions. We can even create delicious delicacies from these great wholesome foods; but what we cannot afford to do is stuff our bodies, God's temples with junk (whenever we please).
Do you know that one way of honoring God is to present your body to Him as you treat it with respect and keep it in good condition?
Romans 12:1-2,1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Preach the Word of God
2 Timothy 4:2-5 NIV
Our commission is to preach the gospel, to share God's love and also to encourage each other to walk like Christ. How are you keeping your body, God's temple? Are you a good steward?
Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage--with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.
Our commission is to preach the gospel, to share God's love and also to encourage each other to walk like Christ. How are you keeping your body, God's temple? Are you a good steward?
