Get out of the boat; walk in God's power

"And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus." Matthew 14:29

There is great power in God’s Word. Look around you, God created the worlds through His Word and that is how He operates. Amazingly, the exceeding greatness of God's power is for us and at our disposal. In this scripture, Jesus uses the word "Come" to open the door for Peter's miracle. The Word is for our benefit. But of what use is it to us if we don’t know it? And of what benefit is it if we know that it has God's power but fail to utilize it?

This great power of God is in His Word. It is effectual only to those who believe it, take it by faith and walk in it without doubting. Unfortunately many Christians only know God's power but never walk in it. They stay in their comfort zone even as they quote God’s Word.

As you continue reading Matthew 14, you find that Peter did not only hear Jesus’ word "Come" but he put it into action. Of all the twelve disciples in the boat only Peter asked for a miracle, only Peter took Jesus at His Word and he was the only one to walk on the water. The others saw Jesus and Peter walking on the water but none of them took the step to participate.

Do you know that your life could be a walking miracle if you took God at His Word? One of the important steps in receiving a miracle from God is to and put yourself in a position where you can receive and be sustained. Leave your comfort zone, forget the security of your natural resources, that means 'get out of your boat and walk in faith without doubting'. God is no respecter of persons (Rom. 2:11).
